Publishing
Publish the weekly e-newsletter and website content. This is a weekly round up of all the information that you as a community publisher and your network learn is going on locally in your hometown community. It lays out all of the important, fun and exciting events, special trips, go-to local businesses and lots more educational and family based activities and learning opportunities.
Estimated time per week: 3 hours


Media Reporter
Become a wholesome journalist! You will be in charge of writing articles that feature and highlight local content that is happening in your area. This will include recommendations, seasonal activities and date specific events.
Your role as a community publisher is to uncover the gems and a variety of things to do and places to go that will reflect the diversity of choice in your community for all the family to enjoy. Many of these gems will be places that you are currently enjoying. Visiting different places will actually become your profession as well as providing an education for your sons and daughters.
Estimated time per week: 3 - 5 hours
Local Business Marketing
Local businesses that support 'off-peak' offers can join our Acorns.Community Card that helps local businesses during their quieter times and in turn supports the home education community.
You will be helping local businesses reach families in your community through banners, blog, article, event & feature advertising with your Acorns.Community business and partnering with them to host sponsored community events like home education camping workshops, home education fairs and mum and daughter proms and more that we have planned to bring to the UK.

Community Connector
Be at the heart of your community. Get the pulse and the heartbeat going of connecting the fabulous home education community as a thriving audience for local businesses.
Assist local businesses in connecting with families in your area by advertising through your Acorns.Community business and teaming up with them to organise sponsored community events such as summer events, sports days, trade fairs, mum's proms, and more. Enjoy retaining 100% of the revenue!
As well as helping head office with national brand campaigns, such as reviewing activities, toys, products and more.
Publishers will receive complimentary products and/or compensation for their involvement in these campaigns.

The One Base Home Ed MarketPlace!
Home Education Hubs have been made possible through collaboration with The Home Mission to facilitate the 'franchise-style' model, but without the franchise fee, for hyper-local media hubs across the UK.
Our founders, having children of home-educating age and being firm believers in wholesome education, have enjoyed the journey of departing from the norm, or at least understanding it as a choice, during our sons' and daughters' traditional schooling years.

Having been a dedicated home educated mum since 2020 to my two daughters, I quickly realised the benefits. But also the challenges of exiting the 'norm' system. Especially being a solo mum, and that was how to create an income whilst having a positive impact on my daughters' wholesome education.
The Home Mission was born alongside the rebirth of Access Media Agency, leveraging decades of marketing expertise and the ownership of 'local people' community franchises by the same owners of Wowcher. Our mission is to empower others to start their own businesses by providing templates and tools to shorten their journey to success.
But quickly I realised that a platform was needed for collaboration with home educating families and building communities and that is how Acorns.Community was born.

All our Publishers need to reside or work within a 30-minute commute of their home patch. Our experience indicates that Publishers thrive only when closely linked and integrated into the community they cater to.

Therefore, prior experience is not required. However, having a basic familiarity/open mind with technology and social media is advisable. Individuals who feel at ease with networking (making friends) and sales outreach (sharing news and opportunities), tend to excel in expanding and monetising their Acorns.Community Publisher venture.
Our training encompasses continuous professional growth in advertising, social media utilisation, content generation, business administration, and other valuable skills that extend beyond the scope of your role as a Publisher which is in itself a fantastic business course that really encompasses 'The Home Mission' mindset and abilities going forward.

Initially, the commitment is highest as you undergo training and familiarise yourself with the intricacies of establishing and operating your new venture.
Some Publishers opt to maintain their Acorns.Community business as a part-time endeavor, with weekly hours decreasing once their website is established and they become proficient at sourcing events. Conversely, others may choose to dedicate additional hours to increase business growth and income generation.
