1. Credentials, Mindset, Responsibilities & Values
Please ensure that you meet our Publisher Credentials, and are willing to fulfill the Publisher role responsibilities detailed below.
2. Complete your Proposal Application
Kindly complete our Acorns.Community Publisher Application with your proposal to begin the process. We'll reach out to you if a Publisher position becomes available within the home patch you wish to cover, and if your skills, mindset, values and credentials align.
3. Commercial Consultation
Arrange a 15 - 20 minute commercial consultation about the business opportunity and patch availability with a member of our Acorns.Community Team.
4. Agreement & Fees
Please provide your Acorns.Community License Agreement and make the payment for your first three months' licensing fees.
5. Training
Participate in our New Publisher Training Webinar and fulfill the New Publisher training course within the initial three months of assuming the Publisher role. This training is crafted to work alongside putting it into action for best results.

A strong innovative mindset is essential. This opportunity does not entail a conventional "job" with a fixed salary; rather, you will be crafting and creating your own business venture and income stream from your passion for this niche that is 'home education' and promoting community collaboration to strengthen our children's futures.
Strong communication abilities, encompassing the capacity to engage effectively with business proprietors and to craft articles and reviews highlighting local businesses, attractions, and events within your community. (A writing sample is necessary as part of the application process.)
Feel competent in capturing high-quality photos and videos, coupled with an eagerness to learn fundamental skills in photo and video editing.
Comfortable with technology, capable at utilising social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and possessing access to a PC or Mac to manage your business.
Ability to engage with your home town community, with keen familiarity and inquisitive involvement in the child and family sector within your locality.
Embrace a community mindset where you aim to contribute to building a family network of Community Publishers. Value collaboration over competition and adopt an abundance approach to sharing best practices
Publisher Responsibilities & Values
Allocate a minimum of 15-20 hours per week to cultivate and oversee your Acorns.Community Local Media Home Education Hub venture. The more time invested, the swifter your enterprise will flourish, leading to greater earnings.
Curate a hyper-local e-newsletter and events calendar weekly, showcasing family-oriented happenings, activities, and programs within your locality.
Craft monthly articles spotlighting family-friendly themes and enjoyable outings for kids in your area.
Engage consistently on social media platforms to foster connections with your audience and funnel them to the your 'education other than at school' helpful hub to promote the finest family-friendly attractions and activities within your community.
Promote your Acorns.Community endeavor to local businesses and organizations, inviting them to collaborate on advertising initiatives. Publishers retain 100% of the revenue generated from advertising partnerships.
Demonstrate a commitment to celebrating the rich diversity within both the Acorns.Community Home Ed Marketplace, Publisher network and your own local hub community by curating and sharing diverse and inclusive content and imagery across your Acorns.Community website and social media channels.
Substantiate your dedication by remitting a £57 monthly (Initial launch price, RRP £77 monthly) licensing fee to Acorns.Community. The initial three months' fee is payable upfront to defray the administrative expenses associated with onboarding a new Publisher and is non-refundable, even in the rare instance of leaving Acorns.Community before the conclusion of this three-month period.

An Acorns.Community Publisher serves as the ultimate guide for family entertainment within their community. Their role involves keeping abreast of all family-friendly events, activities, businesses, and organisations in their area and circulating this information to local families.
This is achieved through the creation of weekly, highly localised e-newsletters and the continuous updating of their local media hub websites with articles highlighting the top activities and destinations for families. Additionally, Publishers manage their business' social media presence, organise local events and gatherings, and offer advertising opportunities to local businesses and organisations.
Furthermore, Publishers have the chance to partake in national advertising initiatives led by Acorns.Community CIC Head Office, where they can review and promote products and services to their audience through articles and social media posts. These campaigns often include complimentary gifts and rewards.
Moreover, as the Community grows, Acorns.Community CIC in addition to regular webinars and online meetings, we will be setting up regular annual events which will be full of celebration and motovation for your business.
All our Publishers need to reside or work within a 30-minute commute of their home patch. Our experience indicates that Publishers thrive only when closely linked and integrated into the community they cater to.
It all depends on your willingness to learn and adapt.
Therefore, prior experience is not required. However, having a basic familiarity/open mind with technology and social media is advisable. Individuals who feel at ease with networking (making friends) and sales outreach (sharing news and opportunities), tend to excel in expanding and monetising their Acorns.Community Publisher venture.
Our training encompasses continuous professional growth in advertising, social media utilisation, content generation, business administration, and other valuable skills that extend beyond the scope of your role as a Publisher which is in itself a fantastic business course that really encompasses 'The Home Mission' mindset and abilities going forward.
Additionally, our Team will be readily available to provide guidance, answer inquiries, and assist you during your initial months as a Publisher.

On average, Publishers dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to their business.
